  • Carbon tripod
  • 20 kg load capacity
  • 1840 g
  • 163 cm maximum height
  • 55 cm pack size
  • Carrying bag included

Leofoto Hiker LN-284CH Carbon tripod
Being able to carry up to 20 kg, but only 1,840 g - who wouldn't want that with their photo tripod? Even if your camera is not that heavy, even with a large Lens, you will still appreciate the feeling of security that a high load capacity provides in any shooting situation. The Hiker LN-284CH allows this load and is almost as light as a feather compared to its load capacity. The other characteristics are also impressive: a maximum working height of 1,630 mm allows the leg segments to be pulled out. At maximum leg spread, the LN-284CH can also be used to take photos at a minimum height of just 80 mm. Aligning the tripod is supported by a built-in spirit level. And the pack size is impressive with a short length of only 550 mm. The Leofoto Hiker LN-284CH is supplied in a sturdy carrying bag, which also comes with a multi-tool and a set of stainless steel spikes.

Leofoto Hiker series - carbon tripods with quick-clamp center column
The large range of high-quality Leofoto tripods includes a wide variety of concepts. In this way, many different user requirements are met. Leofoto provides perfectly suitable tripods for almost every photographic objective and every task (e.g. travel, studio, trekking, etc.). The carbon tripods in the Hiker series are light and super strong at the same time, making them suitable for heavy cameras too. In addition, their built-in center column allows particularly quick height adjustment. It is equipped with a non-slip quick-release clamp.
Like the legs of other Leofoto tripod series (with the exception of the Traveler series and monopods), the leg segments of the Hiker tripods are "constructed" from ten layers of carbon. This extensive use of carbon ensures maximum stability and a low "tendency" to vibrate. Leofoto's standard head plates are also made of durable aircraft aluminum, which is CNC-milled with pinpoint accuracy. A screw with a 3/8" thread is also obligatory. The tripod legs of the Hiker series are each made up of four segments. They can be loosened or fixed with a quick twist of their rubberized locks. As you would expect with these high-quality tripods, they move extremely smoothly and naturally do not twist. Strong, non-slip rubber feet are included, and they also absorb vibrations. They can also be replaced, either with the stainless steel spikes supplied or with optional snow and sand feet.

Leofoto Hiker LN-284CH - comfortable all along the line
One of the tripod legs is hand-friendly, thick and has a non-slip coating. This makes open carrying of the tripod even more comfortable than it already is with such a lightweight carbon tripod. And because comfort at Leofoto never manifests itself in just one single tripod detail, the Hiker LN-284CH has another hand-friendly solution: the built-in center column is held in position with a quick-release clamp - it could hardly be more comfortable. 28, 25, 22, 19 - these are the diameters of the four leg segments in millimetres. They slide out and into each other very smoothly and naturally. The reversible center column (good for macro shots!) has a hook at the lower end. This small detail proves to be very helpful, as a weight can be hung from it. Be it because the terrain requires it or because the Hiker LN-284CH needs to stand even steadier than it already does "by default".

Sigma's 70-200 f/2.8 is a strong competitor to lenses from Sony and Panasonic. The attractive price of €1,699 RRP makes the Sigma a worthwhile alternative, especially in comparison to the 70-200 2.8 from Panasonic and Sony's new G-Master, which is significantly more expensive.
