  • Guide number of 55 (at 200 mm)
  • wide FX-format zoom range of 24-200 mm (14 mm with wide-angle diffuser)
  • three illumination profiles
  • compact design and clear controls: the slim body weighs only 420 g, and the user-friendly display provides a large, easy-to-read readout of shooting information
  • Flash reflector can be tilted up to 7° down or up to 90° up and rotated 180° left and right

In the right light with the SB-5000 - our radio-controlled flash unit
The SB-5000 is fast, reliable and versatile, providing outstanding illumination for both outdoor shots and in the studio. Radio signals allow use within a 30-meter radius and support complex setups, both with the flash unit attached to the camera and detached: now you can work without a direct line of sight or in bright sunlight that would affect an optical signal. The new integrated cooling system allows over 100 shots in quick succession at full flash output. For photographers who want to spontaneously capture the decisive moment, the lightweight, compact SB-5000 offers clearly arranged controls for intuitive handling.

Professional flash unit for unprecedented illumination
The SB-5000 i-TTL flash unit is designed specifically for professional photographers. It is compatible with FX and DX format digital SLR cameras and can be used both in the studio and in the field. This flash unit can either be attached to the hot shoe of the camera or used as a remote-controlled slave flash unit via the WR-R10 radio remote control and is compatible with the Nikon Creative Lighting System.

This is the first Nikon flash unit that does not require a direct line of sight between the camera and the slave unit thanks to wireless radio control. In addition, shooting in bright sunlight is more reliable. Nikon's new built-in cooling system increases the number of immediately consecutive flash firings and eliminates unnecessary interruptions. Other features include a guide number of 34.5 and a wide FX-format zoom range of 24 to 200 mm (14 mm with wide-angle diffuser). The optimized controls and improved menu navigation ensure convenient operation. Thanks to its compact and lightweight design, the flash unit is the perfect complement for your camera.

Its three illumination profiles allow optimal control over the illumination of the image field in specific shooting situations. The wide-angle diffuser and integrated reflector card as well as the included diffuser, together with Nikon's optional color filters, offer new creative possibilities.
