Versatile wide-angle lens with high speed
The Samyang 35 mm f/1.2 Lens is the ideal focal length for ready-to-shoot reportage use. In combination with an 85 mm Lens, you always have the right combination to hand. The outstanding advantage of the 35 mm lies in its freedom from distortion: it brings more image onto the sensor, but the typical wide-angle distortions or receding perspective still do not occur. The very high aperture of f/1.2 allows up to 3 stops reserve compared to a standard Lens. The speed is also noticeable in the brightness of the viewfinder, which provides adjustment reliability. The very shallow depth of field at open aperture makes it easier to focus on specific points.

Internal focusing
The Lens is equipped with internal focusing. Lens groups are shifted internally, the overall length of the lens does not change and the front mount does not rotate when focusing. Graduated and polarizing filters can therefore be easily attached (size 62mm).

Optical design
9 lens elements in 7 groups are evidence of the enormous effort that has gone into creating a high-performance, very good optical system. One lens is aspherically ground (ASP), two others have high refractive index glass (ED). Despite the medium image angle, hardly any aberrations are visible even at full aperture.

Using an APS-C lens on a camera with a full-frame sensor
Lenses developed for cameras with an APS-C sensor can sometimes be used on cameras with a full-frame sensor (mainly using an adapter). However, due to the significantly smaller image circle of APS-C Lens, the edges will be black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera therefore corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor. The images must therefore be cropped in post-processing. The use of APS-C Lens on full-frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.
