Telephoto Lens 56mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary. This Lens is compact, lightweight and yet has exceptional image quality. Thanks to SIGMA's groundbreaking technologies, this lens offers the level of bokeh and superb speed that can be expected from F1.4 medium telephoto lenses. This lens completes the high-speed series, which now consists of portable wide-angle, standard and telephoto lenses.

About the lens designation
SIGMA lenses with the designation "DC" are high-performance lenses that have been specially developed for digital cameras with image sensors up to APS-C format. Vignetting occurs when used on cameras with larger sensors. In this case, photographers are recommended to adapt the sensor format for optimum image results as far as the camera allows.
SIGMA lenses with the "DN" designation are designed to provide outstanding performance on mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras with a short flange focal length.

1. Impressively compact design with image quality that rivals SIGMA's Art product line.
To achieve such a compact design, the lens construction has been adapted to the
capabilities of the camera function in order to correct vignetting and distortion
in the best possible way. In addition, axial chromatic aberrations, which are difficult to correct during image processing, are efficiently corrected through the use of an SLD glass element. This Lens impresses with its compact and lightweight design combined with outstanding image quality.

2the only line of three F1.4 AF lenses for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras with APS-C format sensors
The lens benefits from an F1.4 aperture to deliver effective bokeh and
amazing brightness even on APS-C format cameras, which tend to have
less pronounced bokeh compared to full-frame systems. The compact and lightweight
body is perfect for everyday use and shooting a
wide variety of scenes - from portraits to snapshots and night shots.

3.Smooth AF for video shooting
The combination of an optical setup for AF video shooting with the use of a stepping motor enables smooth and quiet autofocus. The Lens is also compatible with Sony E-mount Fast Hybrid AF and offers precise AF tracking. Using the cameras' Face Detection or Eye AF functions, the focus remains continuously on
the face or eye, even if the subject moves during shooting.

Lens features:
DG lenses
SIGMA's DG lenses are designed for demanding use on digital cameras with sensors up to 24x36mm format (colloquially known as full format). The use of state-of-the-art coating processes successfully eliminates ghost images caused by reflections on the sensor surface, while achieving a balanced color balance and outstanding optical performance.
As these lenses also illuminate the analog film format 24x36mm, their use on some suitable analog cameras is also possible, although we would ask you to contact us in individual cases.

DN lenses
High-performance lenses developed exclusively for mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. The latest technology in lens development ensures high optical performance, a compact design and quiet autofocus. The outstanding telecentricity guarantees sharp and high-resolution image quality across the entire image plane.
