  • Fixed focal length telephoto lens
  • stunning contrast
  • outstanding resolution
  • beautiful bokeh
  • suitable for full frame

These Lenses are designed to offer virtually no aberrations with incredible resolution and stunning contrast. With the longest focal length of the F1.4 Art product line lenses, the new Lens combines outstanding resolution with beautiful bokeh.

This Lens has been carefully designed to ensure that sharp and out-of-focus areas are equally satisfying to the eye, making it a true "bokeh master."

The SIGMA 105mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art prioritizes image quality to deliver the truly amazing optical performance promised by the F1.4 Art product line lenses, earning its place as the flagship lens in this product line.

To combine outstanding open-aperture and medium telephoto performance with F1.4 speed, this Lens contains 17 optical elements in 12 groups - an unusually large number for a fixed focal length lens.

Using three FLD glass elements, two SLD glass elements, and one aspherical lens element, the optical system minimizes longitudinal chromatic aberration and delivers extremely high resolution while maintaining a large peripheral light volume.

The focus area is extremely sharp, while the out-of-focus area has wonderful bokeh with very natural colors, making this lens a powerful partner in portrait photography. The optical system also minimizes sagittal coma, making this lens equally ideal for night sky photography.

The most effective way to ensure great light output is to maximize the diameter of the first element of the optical system. With its large filter diameter of 105mm, the SIGMA 105mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art delivers a significantly larger volume of edge rays than other lenses in its class. This lens minimizes vignetting while providing beautiful bokeh, making it the ideal lens for protrait photography.

Like our Sports line of lenses, the 105mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art is equipped with highly effective dust and splash protection. To this end, the lens mount*, focus ring, front unit, and other areas are equipped with a special seal, enabling photographers to work in all weather conditions.

In addition, the front lens of the Lens is protected by a water- and oil-repellent coating, which also facilitates cleaning. The particularly fast and highly precise autofocus lets photographers react immediately to take that very special photo.

* Lenses with a SIGMA bayonet do not have a seal, as compatible SIGMA cameras have a seal.

Instead of conventional ABS plastic, the exclusive lens hood uses CFRP (carbon fiber-reinforced plastic) - a lightweight but strong material that is used in aircraft interiors and exteriors, among other applications.

The removable Arca-Swiss tripod clamp is compatible with Arca-Swiss plates and mounts, and the exclusive rubber cover facilitates transport and handling of the lens when shooting handheld.

DG Lenses
SIGMA's DG lenses are designed for demanding use on digital cameras with sensors up to 24x36mm format (colloquially known as full-frame). By using the latest coating processes, ghosting caused by reflections on the sensor surface is successfully eliminated, while at the same time achieving balanced colors and superior optical performance.
Since these lenses also illuminate the 24x36mm analog film format, their use is also possible on some suitable analog cameras, although we ask that you consult us on a case-by-case basis.

HSM Ultrasonic Motor (Hyper Sonic Motor)
HSM lenses use a motor that is driven by ultrasonic waves. This technology offers you a very fast, accurate and almost silent way of automatic focusing. Two different types of HSM ultrasonic drive are used in our Lenses. The first is the HSM ring motor, which is mainly installed in the high-quality EX Lenses. This HSM drive allows you to manually intervene in the AF operation at any time. On the other hand, an HSM micromotor is mainly used in compact Lenses, the so-called all-round zoom lenses. Here, manual intervention in the AF operation is not possible.

Hands on the new Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS S

Sigma's 70-200 f/2.8 is a strong competitor to lenses from Sony and Panasonic. The attractive price of €1,699 RRP makes the Sigma a worthwhile alternative, especially in comparison to the 70-200 2.8 from Panasonic and Sony's new G-Master, which is significantly more expensive.
