  • Super telephoto zoom Lens
  • high image quality and compact design
  • Functionality provides mobility and ease of use

The same focal length range for different purposes. The first super-telephoto zoom lens in the Contemporary product line offers easier handling.
On the one hand, the concept of the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HMS | Sports is aimed at achieving the best possible optical performance in the action segment to meet the needs of professional photographers. On the other hand, the concept of the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HMS | Contemporary aims to offer a lightweight and compact design for everyday use with similar technical specifications. Featuring one FLD glass element and three SLD glass elements, the focus is on delivering high optical performance, optimizing the power distribution of the Lens and minimizing lateral chromatic aberration. For a super telephoto zoom lens, image quality at telephoto is what matters most, and this one offers excellent performance here. In addition, distortions are compensated very well over the entire focal length range. To make this super telephoto zoom Lens even more portable for hands-free outdoor shooting, it is dust and splash resistant and comes with a detachable tripod clamp for better usability.

1. The high image quality and compact design are based on the concept of the Sigma Contemporary product line.

By incorporating excellent glass elements, chromatic aberration is minimized and first-class image quality is achieved.
This Lens incorporates one FLD ("F" Low Dispersion) glass element, whose imaging performance is on par with fluoride glass, and three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements, which compensate for typical color aberrations to the extreme. In particular, chromatic aberration, which can be predominantly visible at telephoto, even when stopped down, is corrected by the optimized design of these glass elements.
* FLD glass is the best low dispersion and extremely high transmission glass available. This glass has imaging performance on par with fluoride glass, which has a low refractive index and low dispersion compared to common glasses. It also benefits from high anomalous dispersion. These characteristics provide excellent correction of residual chromatic aberration (secondary spectrum), which cannot be corrected by ordinary glass, and guarantee very sharp and high-contrast images.

Lightweight and compact design for better usability.
Compared to the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports, it is more compact and lighter, making it easier to handle, which enables freehand photography for longer periods of time. The tripod clamp is removable, so the Lens can be used and transported without it. Without the tripod clamp, it can be stored in an even more space-saving manner. In addition, the tripod clamp is made of magnesium, which makes it both lightweight and strong.
The specially designed carrying strap that attaches to the tripod clamp is designed for easy transportation, especially when a camera is attached to the Lens. If you carry the camera and Lens combination solely on the camera strap, the connectors could be affected. Super telephoto lenses are usually equipped with a specially designed strap to use it attached to the Lens and not to the camera.
* strap included in delivery

2. Improved functionality for greater portability and ease of use.

The zoom lock switch can be used at any focal length.
The new zoom lock switch allows the zoom ring to be locked at any marked focal length. This locks the focal length whether the Lens is pointed up or down. In addition, this is helpful for long exposures. Turning the zoom ring conveniently unlocks the lock (except when set to 150mm = transport lock).

A water- and oil-repellent coating guarantees pleasant photographic experiences.
The outer lenses have a water- and oil-repellent coating that makes water easy to wipe away and prevents oil and grease from sticking to the surface. At the same time, this makes it easier to maintain the lens surface.

Dust- and splash-proof mount.
Like the lens mount of the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM from the Sports product line, this mount is also equipped with a rubber seal that prevents dust and water droplets from entering.

An accelerometer allows it to follow along during shooting in both landscape and portrait modes.

An accelerometer has been added to the OS (Optical Stabilizer) function to ensure even greater precision. OS mode 1 is suitable for usual photography and mode 2 is ideal for moving objects such as in motor sports, etc. In Mode 2, the accelerometer detects whether the camera is in landscape or portrait orientation and can effectively minimize blur.
* This Lens cannot be used with analog SLR cameras, except Nikon F6 and Canon EOS 1V.
* The effect of Mode 2 is limited to pulling along in the horizontal direction.

Optimized, smoother and faster AF.
The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) provides fast and silent AF. Further improvements to the AF algorithm of previous models have increased the efficiency of focus tracking AF (AF-C) by about 5%.

3. Customization and flexible adjustment options for convenience or for specific intentions.

Manual Override function, providing two manual modes.
MO (Manual Override) switch position has been added to the AF/MF switch as one of the focus mode options. When the switch is in the MO position, turning the focus ring will result in manual focus even in focus tracking AF mode. In the AF position, the default setting for anytime MF is active. Using the SIGMA USB dock, MO sensitivity can be adjusted.

4. The new SGV concept product lines set new standards for image quality.

Latest technology for high optical performance and compactness.
High-performance product line for a wide range of photographic situations.
Sigma groups all its interchangeable lenses into three product lines; Contemporary, Art and Sports. Among these three, the Contemporary product line is a high-performance product line that incorporates the very latest technologies, promising high optical performance as well as a compact design for use in a wide variety of photographic settings. Sigma has solved the difficult task of keeping the size and weight down without sacrificing optical performance and functionality by using the latest technologies.

Reflection and Ghost Eliminating Design.

Sigma's Super Multi-Layer coating eliminates reflections and ghosting. This ensures sharp, high-contrast images throughout the zoom range.

Round aperture.

The near-round aperture of 9 aperture blades provides a very pleasing bokeh outside the image's plane of focus.

Sigma Mount Converter MC-11 Sony FE mount Canon EF

Short profile

  • Connection adapter
  • ideal addition to the equipment of professional photographers
  • use their valuable Lens flexibly

Product description for Sigma Mount Converter MC-11 Sony FE mount

This adapter expands the possible uses of lenses.

The MC-11 mount adapter makes it possible to use interchangeable lenses with a SIGMA EF mount on camera bodies with the Sony E-mount. In the past, there were already various methods that made it possible to use Lens of a certain camera system on a Body with another system. However, today's digital camera systems are much more complex and it is a difficult task to develop a mount adapter that matches both the mechanical components and the software requirements of Lens and camera. Even greater difficulties arise when developing an adapter that allows DSLR camera lenses to be attached to the bodies of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. In today's photographic market, there is a great need for such an adapter that not only adapts the flange focal distance, but also maintains full functionality.

The MC-11 mount adapter contains the data necessary to ensure fast and smooth AF and OS with compatible Lens. At the same time, they ensure compatibility with the camera functions that ensure edge illumination and correct lateral chromatic aberration, distortion and other problems.

Since the Sony E-mount camera bodies do not require the integration of lenses with a mechanical aperture control, the SIGMA EF interchangeable lenses and the SIGMA interchangeable lenses with Canon mount are fully compatible with the automatic exposure control of the Sony E-mount cameras by means of the MC-11 mount adapter.

The MC-11 mount adapter is an ideal addition to the equipment of professional photographers who work with different camera systems depending on the subject, and offers great advantages for amateur photographers who frequently use different camera systems. Their own equipment gains significantly in value if the existing lenses are compatible with different camera systems. In addition, users of Sony E-mount cameras can take advantage of an even wider range of compatible lenses with the adapter.

With the MC-11 mount adapter, SIGMA interchangeable lenses with the proprietary EF mount and SIGMA interchangeable lenses with a Canon mount can be connected to Sony E-mount camera systems without any modification. Photographers who use different camera systems can now use their valuable lenses flexibly.

Note: The lens data update requires that the latest version of the SIGMA Optimization Pro software has been installed on the computer and that the SIGMA USB-DOCK (optionally available) is present.
