A passport photo is a photograph used to identify a person on official documents such as a passport, ID card, or driver's license.

As a rule, a passport photo must meet the following requirements: it must be in color, show the person's head in the center, have a neutral background, the person must look frontally into the camera, and there must be no shadows on the face or red eyes. For people wearing glasses, the eye must not be covered by the flash.
The validity period of passport photos depends on the requirements of the country or organization issuing the ID card. In Germany, the passport photo must be renewed every 10 years.
In principle, there are no requirements for clothing, but we recommend that you wear clothing that you feel comfortable in and which will adorn your passport for the next few years.
The hair should not cover the eyes or face for the passport photo. Since the iris must be recognizable in the eye. For facial recognition, the face should be recognizable and clearly visible from the tip of the chin to the forehead. In principle, however, there are no requirements on the part of the offices.
If your passport photo does not meet the requirements, it will be rejected by the issuing office and you will have to have a new photo taken.
